More about our Costa Rican coffee
We source our Costa Rican coffee beans from CoopeTarrazu, a community programme designed to promote the individual characteristics of the coffee grown in ‘microzones’ of the Tarrazu region in Costa Rica.
The individual communities receive and decide as a group how the premiums will be used to improve their coffee production and livelihood, with revenue being used on road building, community water and school infrastructure projects.
Coffee is grown at between 1,200 and 1,900 meters above sea level, in shaded plantations with the right climate and soil conditions for cultivation.
